Baptised by fire

One in a million chance
to purify ,
to be baptised by fire ,
the burning rage of Sun
hidden in
the mid-afternoon stones ,
once in a lifetime chance
to walk barefoot
on the rocks on fire ,
once in a never chance
of being consumed
by the rage
of invisible flames
around the hills ,
baptised by the water
sprinkled
to cool ,
to heal ,
to hold
the fire .
(Today I had to literally walk barefoot on the blazing stones )
